CLEVELAND – A 36-year-old career offender has been sentenced for trafficking fentanyl and cocaine throughout Northeast Ohio.
Dustin Young, of Lorain, was sentenced by U.S. District Court Judge John R. Adams to 327 months (27.25 years) in prison after pleading guilty in May to:
Possession with Intent to Distribute Fentanyl Possession with Intent to Distribute Cocaine Possessing a Firearm in Furtherance of a Drug Trafficking Crime Felon in Possession of a Firearm and Ammunition; prior convictions include Attempted Felonious Assault and Domestic Violence in 2023, and Felonious Assault and Unlawful Discharge of a Firearm into a Habitation in 2014. He was also ordered to serve 10 years of supervised release after imprisonment.
According to court documents and evidence presented before the judge, federal agents were investigating suspected drug trafficking activity in Lorain County and Young was identified. On Jan. 30, 2026, investigators executed a search warrant at his home and seized three handguns, two rifles, approximately 34 grams of fentanyl and 36 grams of cocaine, more than 80 Bupreorphine Nalozone sublingual films, several fentanyl patches, digital scales, cellphones, and $3,325.00 in cash. Cocaine and fentanyl were discovered in kitchen oven mitts. Firearms were hidden throughout the residence, including one magazine with ammunition found in a baby basinet.
This case was investigated by the FBI Cleveland Division and the Lorain Police Department.
