MUSKOGEE, OKLAHOMA – The United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma announced that Jennifer Luann Hammer, age 52, of Edmond, Oklahoma, entered a guilty plea to one count of Theft in Indian Country, punishable by up to 5 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
The Indictment alleged that beginning in or about May 2019 and continuing until in or about December 2023, Hammer did take, and carry away with intent to steal and purloin, the personal property of another exceeding $1,000.00 in value.
The crime occurred in Carter County, within the boundaries of the Chickasaw Nation Reservation, in the Eastern District of Oklahoma.
The charge arose from an investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
The Honorable D. Edward Snow, Magistrate Judge in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma, accepted the plea and ordered the completion of a presentence investigation report.
A U.S. District Court Judge will determine the sentence to be imposed after considering the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and other statutory factors.
Hammer will remain out of custody pending sentencing.
